The traditional method of supplying cryogenic nitrogen involves the liquid product being produced at a remote facility, consuming a significant amount of energy. Liquid nitrogen is transported and delivered to the location in tanks where it is then converted back to gas. Depending on the scope of work, multiple truckloads of liquid nitrogen are needed and numerous field staff are required to load, transport, and unload the product at the site.
This essential supply chain must be closely managed to ensure constant supply on location. Operational risks include more trucks on the road, increased exposure to accidents, exposure to handling cryogenic liquids, and supply interruption. The environmental impacts of this method are increased fuel and power consumption.
